Due to the high volume of requests, we are currently unable to facilitate requests for Zoom PRO account licenses at this time. Those that submit requests for a PRO account will be placed on a waiting list until more become available. Please note that BASIC accounts are still available by submitting the request form. Below are the features of BASIC accounts. Basic Accounts can be upgraded to Pro after this temporary hold by emailing us. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you have questions regarding account status, feel free to contact us at email@example.com BASIC account features • Basic accounts will allow users to host on-line meetings of 2 simultaneous users for an unlimited amount of time. • Basic accounts will also allow users to host on-line meetings of 3 or more simultaneous users for only 40 minute sessions. • Basic accounts will still allow local recording to your computer. • Basic accounts will not allow users to add videoconference rooms with H.323 codecs into your meeting. Note: Individuals can participate and join in Zoom meetings without an account. Users only need an account to host a Zoom meeting.
Zoom, UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health's video and web conferencing tool, is available to Gillings students, faculty, and staff. Zoom allows for video, audio, and screen sharing for up to 100 participants. It can be used from any computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile device. Zoom also works with rooms equipped for video conferencing.
Faculty and Staff By default, Faculty and Staff are issued "Pro" level Zoom accounts. These accounts will allow meetings with no time limit and will include the option to use dedicated classroom video conferencing hardware. Students Students are issued "Basic" level accounts, providing meetings limited to two participants with no time limit, or 40 minute meetings for groups of 3 or more participants. Additionally, Basic accounts cannot access dedicated video conferencing room hardware (Polycom, Tandberg, Lifesize, etc.). Students who have a need to upgrade to a "Pro" account can do so temporarily by completing Special Account Features Request, outlined below. Note: "Pro" Zoom Accounts that are unused for an extended period of time may be converted to "Basic" accounts at the disgression of Instructional Media Services. Users will be contacted before any change occurs.

We have special temporary upgrades that can be added to your account if you need them. These include Webinar functionality, which lets Zoom users create broadcast-style presentation with up to 100 viewers, and Upgraded Student Accounts which remove the meeting time limit for student accounts and allow the account to accept connections from dedicated Room Conferencing systems. If you need any of these upgrades, please submit a Special Account Features Request.

Browse to Camera Enabled Rooms to view SPH classrooms that include an advanced camera system or webcam to remote conference from. PLEASE NOTE: Basic rooms & conference rooms not listed will require a laptop or conference camera that can be checked out from AV Services.
