Zoom, UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health’s new video and web conferencing tool, is now available to all students, faculty, and staff. Zoom allows for video, audio, and screen sharing between up to 50 participants. It can be used from any computer, laptop, tablet, or phone, and it works on PC, Mac, Android and iOS devices. Zoom also works with rooms equipped for video conferencing. Any UNC Gillings user can request an account and initiate a video or audio meeting, allowing Zoom to be used for any online meeting, whether between two or many people.
Anyone in the world can join a Zoom meeting, but only a host can start/schedule meetings. Use your Zoom Credentials to sign in to your host account.
Request Special Account Features if needed.
We have special temporary upgrades that can be added to your account if you need them. These include Webinar functionality, which lets Zoom users create broadcast-style presentation with up to 100 viewers, and Upgraded Student Accounts which remove the meeting time limit for student accounts and allow the account to accept connections from dedicated Room Conferencing systems. If you need any of these upgrades, please submit a Special Account Features Request.
